Scoring in the CCIE Lab

The scoring in the CCIE lab is done on a per task basis and not a per section basis.  If you do not pass the lab you will receive a breakdown of how you did by section (i.e. IGP, Multicast, etc) but they will not give you a breakdown on a task by task basis.  ...]


IEWB Vol.3 Update

I completed InternetworkExpert.com version 4.1 volume 3 labs 3 + 4 on Saturday. The IEWB volume 3 labs are supposed to make you faster at core tasks. These labs are what I consider “half-labs”. They cover PPP, frame, ethernet switching, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and redistribution. So far, so good. ...]

Rule of thumb.
a. First analyze and group the time-period for which you want the partition to be active. This could be business hours (M-F, 8-5 for say).
b. If the time slots cannot be grouped into one time period, define multiple time periods.
c. Group all timeperiods into one time schedule.

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert in Security

Cisco recently announced changes to their CCIE Security track. I passed the CCIE written 350-018 and am currently in pursuit of the Lab exam. The new track has the following changes:
 Upgrade of Cisco PIX Firewall Appliance to Software Version 7.x.
 Addition of two ASA-5510 Firewall Appliances running v7.x.
 Upgrade of Cisco Intrusion Prevention System to Software Release ...]
