Thu, 03 Apr 2008 10:49:58 +0000
Part of the mystique of the CCIE lab is the difficulty people have in passing it. As I understand it, the vast majority of candidates take the lab exam more than once before passing. One statistic indicates an OVERALL (not first time) lab pass rate of only 26%. Certainly then, it IS ...]

Occasionally, someone will tell me that they met a CCIE who has a number lower than either Stuart's or mine and I just laugh. There's a Cisco web page where you can check the status of CCIEs. You have to know their CCIE registration name. It is a good thing to check when interviewing CCIEs.

Understanding Redistribution (Part III)

Mon, 17 Mar 2008 13:48:36 +0000
Please, refer to the previous parts of this article, for information on the diagram and terms. For this scenario, called “dual-core”, we want the “fast” Ethernet connections (VLAN 356) to be used as primary transport for packet exchange between the routing domains. The Frame-Relay cloud should only be traversed, if the primary (“fast”) connections fail ...]

First off we need to understand that traceroute is a technique to have the routers between the source and destination reveal themselves and finally have the destination reveal itself. Traceroute can be implemented using ICMP, UDP, and even TCP so as a CCIE when someone asks you to filter “traceroute” you should get a ...]
